Program Goals & Evaluations

GT Program Goals 2021-2022 

School districts in Iowa are required to conduct program evaluations based on Chapter 59 and Iowa’s Differentiated Accountability System.  The Gifted and Talented Program is part of the improvement cycle process.  College Community School District set the following goals based on multiple data resources. These goals will be included in the District Improvement Plan.  We will continuously monitor progress and update the program goals annually.

Goal #1 – Gifted & Talented Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Goal

1a. GT Specialists will implement personalized units using CCSD Gifted and Talented Standards 1a. Teacher units and reflections in Atlas Rubicon
1b. GT Specialists will apply and deepen the use of student-friendly proficiency scales and self-evaluations with students.1b. Student-friendly proficiency scales in Atlas Rubicon and examples of self-evaluation in student PEP’s 
Goal # 2 – Gifted and Talented Identification Goal

2a. GT Specialists will meet with the ELL Teacher prior to each GT eligibility meeting to review student needs and potential candidates for gifted and talented services.2a. Meeting minutes

Goal #3 – Student Achievement Goal

3a.  75% of students will meet or exceed their growth target from fall to spring in reading and math. 3a. MAP assessment data 
3b.  By the spring of 2022, 75% of students will meet or exceed their academic and self-determined Personal Education Plan (PEP) goals.3b. PEP data collection
Goal #4 – Professional Development Goal

4a. Provide teachers with ongoing consultancy to address Professional Learning Community (PLC) question #4:  How will we respond when they [students] know it?4a. Professional Learning Presentation, PLC Artifacts
4b. Increase classroom teachers’ knowledge and skills in providing differentiated instruction for the advanced learner via job-embedded opportunities.4b. PL agenda, rosters, & course evaluation
Goal #5 – Communication Goal

5a. GT Specialists will meet with their Building Administrator at least bi-monthly to ensure coordinated supports and services within and across schools.  5a. Meeting agendas and minutes

5c. GT Specialists will revise and implement a transition protocol that will be implemented each spring to ensure a smooth transition for GT students and families. 5c. Transition Protocol
5d. GT Specialists will meet with special education teachers of 2E students at least quarterly to ensure coordinated supports and services. 5d. Meeting minutes
